Welcome!

LIFE...ENGLISH...GRAMMAR...READING... WHAT IS THE CONNECTION?

Have you ever sat in an English class and thought, "What am I doing here that will make a difference in my life?"  Honestly, it is a great question, and it has even better answers!  The everyday lessons that are taught in English class can make an impact on life because students learn to work cooperatively, argue effectively, write correctly, and manage time more efficiently!

I am a teacher who cares about the successes and failures of the students in my classroom.   I will do what I can to help students and parents feel the effects of success.

Please feel free to let go of any negative assumptions you may have about English; let's get to work and have fun learning!

WEBSITE OBJECTIVES

This website has been created as a innovative way of getting students excited about English and reading, keeping them up to date on assignments, and providing them with valuable online resources.   This site is also intended for the betterment of parents as they can see updated information on their child's learning processes and activities.

I hope that both parents and students find this site informational as well as educational.  If there is anything that you would like to see on this site, please contact me and give me your feedback.

In addition, this site is designed for other educators and professionals to use as a guide for English references and classroom guidelines.  If any professional visitors have any questions, please contact me as well.

Please feel free to give me input on the website at any time.  Students should contact me if they would like me to post their work or any other pertinent activities.  All postings are (of course) up to my discretion, but I am striving to make this site user-friendly.

I hope that you enjoy this new look into technology as much as I do!

Professional Mission Statement

Graduation Diploma and Tassels

It is my goal as an educator to reach students in a caring and ethical manner that is reflective of the effects of my own life-long motivations. I believe in pursuing higher levels of education.  This ideology promotes the feeling that everyone has the opportunity and motivation within themselves to make an impact on the world around them; furthermore, everyone can see a place filled with opportunities and consider themselves an integral part of the life process -- each and every person has the ability to make the world a better place!  I wish each of you the best of luck as you walk the path of your destiny.

Coaches Corner -
Tennis Information!

Girls tennis season was successful.  We ended the season 10-9 with an amazing victory of Kent Roosevelt!  Wohoo!  We played our first match of the season on Friday, August 22 against Chippewa in the first round of the State Tournament and won in a 3-2 victory.  Congratulations ladies!

Stephanie Fosnight and Kaylyn Moyer (alumni) also had successful offseasons.  Moyer participated in the the USTA women's 3.5 and 4.0 leagues and was extremely successful.  She and I both participated at the State tournament in August in Toledo, Ohio.  We did not win the tournament, but we had an extremely successful season.  Maybe next year, we will be able to attend the tournament in San Diego.    Stephanie is attending St. Bonaventure in New York and played #1 and #2 singles for the Bonnies.  She too had a successful year, and if I have anything to do with it, she will play USTA tennis this summer too!

Boys tennis finished their spring season with a fabulous record of 9-6!  This is the best record posted by the Raven's in over seven years!  Congratulations team!    The boys are looking to venture back to Hilton Head this spring.  Fundraising is in effect.  If you have any questions or would like to participate, contact Coach Brown at the high school.
